Chiropractic Care
Is Pain or Dysfunction Preventing you from Living the Life You want to Live?
Our chiropractors are trained to help humans of all ages get healthy, naturally. We use the most specific chiropractic techniques for your specific condition to help your body heal.
Our office focuses on structure (the spine) and function (the nervous system). During your first visit we will get to the root cause of your problem. One of the ways we do this is through our insight scans. These scans help us take a deeper look at your nervous system and figure out how well your brain is adapting to your environment and the level of stress your body is under. Chiropractors are one of the largest healing professions. Many people think we are back pain doctors, but we are so much more than that. The spine houses the nervous system and the nervous system controls every function in the body. Through specific and gentle chiropractic adjustments, we are able to release tension within the body, promote self-healing, and improve physical symptoms.
Family Chiropractic Care
Many of our patients stay under routine chiropractic care as part of their health maintenance and prevention plan long after their symptoms are gone.
This is because chiropractic care has many benefits beyond pain relief.
People under routine chiropractic care report more energy, less sick days, improved immune system function, better sleep, improved recovery from new injuries, less stress, and overall increased sense of well being.
Another reason patients have their families come in is because they want their children to experience higher levels of health than they did.
In order to make this affordable for families we offer discount options for multiple family members under care, as well as complimentary new patient visits for family members of existing patients.
Frequenty Asked Questions
Is Chiropractic Safe?
Of course! And it’s gentle and effective! Our techniques in pediatrics, Blair Upper Cervical, Activator, Torque Release, and Webster’s are all very gentle. We joke that if babies smile here, you will too.
What is an Adjustment?
An adjustment is a force applied to the body to release tension or misalignment in the body. This can be a very gentle light touch (like testing the ripeness of a tomato) for releasing tension in the ligaments, or adjusting babies. It could be a deeper hold to release muscular tension, or a more traditional manual adjustment for adjusting the spine. We even have specific adjusting instruments that can be used for structural (spinal) adjustments or for tonal adjustments (to affect the nervous system and spinal cord tension).
It is important to note that an audible “crack” does not always occur with an adjustment. The doctor will decide what technique is best for your concern.
We check the entire spine when we are adjusting because where you are experiencing pain and dysfunction is often due to overuse or compensation from another area of the body. We work to find the primary misalignments or areas of tension that are causing dysfunction elsewhere.
What is Subluxation?
Subluxation is a fancy word for tension or misalignments in the body that causes interference with the nervous system.
The word subluxation literally translates to less//light, or less nerve impulse from the brain to the rest of the body.
This distorted nerve flow of communication between the brain + the body is what leads to dis-ease and dysfunction.
Why are You Spelling Dis-ease Like That?
Dis-ease creates disease. The natural state of the body is a state of ease and a state of health.
When we experience stress (physical, chemical, or emotional) and our body cannot return to a state of ease, tension is stored in the body. This causes misalignments that affect the nervous system. Because the nervous system controls everything in the body, it can cause problems from aches and pains, posture issues, hormonal problems, digestive complaints, anxiety, and sleep issues
What causes a Subluxation?
We call these the 3Ts:
Thoughts: we were never meant to experience so much emotional stress on a daily basis. Each of these stressful experiences causes a chemical cascade in our body that affects our physiology creating a state of increased tension and dysfunction.
Traumas: these are the physical things that happen to us — either on a daily basis like poor posture, abnormal movement patterns, and ergonomics, or big things like car accidents, slip and falls, sports injuries, childbirth, etc.
Toxins: let’s face it. Our environment isn’t as clean as it once was. There are pollutants and toxic chemicals in our food, water, and air. These place an additional stress on the body.
So what do we do about it?? We increase our ability to adapt to these stressors (chiropractic + self care), and we decrease the stressors that we experience on a day to day basis (lifestyle changes).
Why Should I Come In?
Because our bodies are constantly experiencing new stressors and we are putting more demands on ourselves than ever before, our bodies are not able to keep up and they need help.
Essentially you have two choices - wait for things to get worse or do something to help your body adapt, heal and recover.
Here at FLC, we hope you choose the latter. Most of our patients report a 50-100% improvement within the first few visits, and then we work to provide stability to the spine + improve the adaptability of the nervous system to create long-lasting, sustainable change.
