Bed Wetting
Bed wetting, also known as nocturnal enuresis, is a common problem among children. It can be a source of embarrassment for both the child and their family, and can lead to disrupted sleep patterns and social isolation.
Conventional treatments for bed wetting include medication, bladder training, and alarm therapy. However, these treatments may not always be effective and can have unwanted side effects.
Recent research has shown that chiropractic care may be an effective and safe alternative treatment for bed wetting in children. Chiropractic care focuses on the relationship between the spine and the nervous system, and how the misalignment of the spine can affect the body’s ability to function properly.
When the spine is misaligned, it can put pressure on the nerves that control the bladder, leading to a variety of bladder problems, including bed wetting. Chiropractic care aims to correct the misalignment of the spine through gentle, non-invasive adjustments.
One study published in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics followed 33 children with bed wetting who received chiropractic care. The study found that 25 of the 33 children showed improvement in their bed wetting, with 15 children becoming completely dry at night after just two weeks of care.
Another study published in the Journal of Chiropractic Medicine followed 46 children with bed wetting who received chiropractic care. The study found that 31 of the 46 children showed improvement in their bed wetting, with 17 children becoming completely dry at night after just two months of care.
Chiropractic care is a safe and effective alternative treatment for bed wetting in children. If your child suffers from bed wetting, it is worth considering chiropractic care as an option to alleviate their symptoms and improve their quality of life. However, as with any treatment, it is important to consult with a qualified healthcare provider before starting any new therapy.
